iOS 5: My review 10/15/2011
Hey everyone! I just got my iPhone 4 in White, with iOS 5. I love iOS 5 there are a lot of features to be used. One of my favorites is Notification center! That is where all of your notifications are stored. Now let's talk about reminders. Reminders helps you remember what you need to do, it can be calendar based or location based. Sadly, because the iPod touch is 3G, location based reminders are not available. Add Comment New Features 08/05/2011
I am super excited for iOS 5. There is going to be a lot of features (200+). Here are some of the features. Notification Center This is one of the features I am extremely excited about! For me, it is very annoying when I have an app opened or I'm trying to write an email and a notification pops up. Well not anymore :)! Introducing, NOTIFICATION CENTER. Whenever you have a notification it just pops up on the top of your screen, not interrupting anything. iMessage This is probably the feature I am most excited about! They are adding IMESSAGE for all iOS devices. You can send unlimited text messages via Wi-Fi or 3G from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch to anyone with one of those devices. You can send text, photos, videos, locations, and contacts. You can also track your messages with delivery receipts. Newsstand This next app is called NEWSSTAND. It is like iBooks but for magazines and newspapers. You can have newspaper and magazine subscriptions! There is also a new place in the app store just for newspaper and magazine subscriptions. This is kinda like having a newspaper delivered to your front door, only better. Reminders Another interesting app that will help me out is REMINDERS. Reminders let's you organize your life in to-do lists. What is really cool is Reminders can be location based. If you need to pick something up at the grocery store, all you have to do is pull into the parking lot and you will get an alert. Reminders works with iCal, Outlook, and iCloud, so changes you make will automatically update on all your devices and calendars. Twitter integration The iOS 5 devices will be integrated with TWITTER. I love twitter so this would save me a lot of time! All you have to do is sign in once in your settings and you can tweet from Safari, Photos, Camera, YouTube or maps. You can even add a location to any tweet, no matter what app your tweeting from! Camera Yes, they are even updating the CAMERA app! This update is basically for those unexpected "once in a lifetime" moments, that you will never see again. You can open the camera app right from the lock screen! This is good for me because I have something wrong with me that causes me to be lazy, so this is perfect for me! There is pinch-to-zoom gestures and single-tap focus and exposure locks to compose a picture on the fly. You can even press the volume up button to take the picture! If you have photo stream enabled in iCloud, your photos automatically download to all your other devices. Photos They are also updating PHOTOS. You can crop, rotate, enhance, and remove red-eye without leaving the photos app. Safari These new SAFARI updates look pretty cool, and I'm sure some of you have been waiting for some of these updates. Safari reader displays web articles without all the advertisements and crap no one really cares about. Reading list lets you save interesting articles to peruse later, while iCloud keeps your list updated all across your devices. On iPad, tabbed browsing helps you keep track of multiple web pages and switch between them with ease. PC Free The last iOS 5 update we are going to talk about is the fact that you no longer need a computer to own an iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch. Activate and set up your device wirelessly, right out of the box. Download free iOS software updates directly on your device. You can back up and restore your device automatically using iCloud. iOS 5 is compatible with: iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 iPod touch 3rd generation, iPod touch 4th generation iPad, iPad 2 Thank you all for reading this post!
